Equestrian Development Scheme
The main aim of the scheme is to identify previously disadvantaged riders, who have potential, natural talent and empathy with horses, and who have already started riding, and train them taking them up the grades so that one day they can compete at the highest level. Their specific needs can be looked at and sponsorship (in the case of child riders a benefactor) can be found.
These riders should be at a point where they are ready to compete so that they already have an interest and are more likely to want to progress.
The potential applicant will be assessed by a recognised expert, and , if successful, will be assigned to a suitable and willing instructor, for training.
If necessary, their basic riding gear may be provided.
The rider's progress will be monitored, and given as much media coverage as possible. As and when they need to become members, the suitable level of membership will be given. When they get to the point where they need a horse, sponsorship should be found for them.
The opputiunity to apply for membership, and show entries, as per the exsisting scheme, is available on application for previously disadvantaged riders. This will be subject to approval by the Executive Committee.
